The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/culture\/features\/a-rape-on-campus-20141119\" target=\"_blank\">Rolling Stone story<\/a>\u00a0about an especially brutal gang rape at the University of Virginia is provoking\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/blogs\/erik-wemple\/wp\/2014\/12\/02\/rolling-stone-whiffs-in-reporting-on-alleged-rape\/\" target=\"_blank\">considerable backlash<\/a>\u2013 with a few critics suggesting the entire story might be a hoax &#8230;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style184\">\u201cIt took years for the \u2018Satanic child abuse crisis\u2019 to collapse, and several months for the Duke lacrosse scandal to turn around.
